A time I still regard as one of the best in my life was the ski trip to Italy that my TY year-group went on in January 2019. We were all unbelievably excited for this trip and it didn’t disappoint.
The atmosphere of fun and new experience was unparalleled as most of us had never been to Italy before, let alone gone skiing before. When we arrived in Milan, we went straight to get food and to this day I’ve not found a dish of pasta to rival what we had in Italy. The village we were staying in was called Santa Caterina. A village in the mountains that was comparable to heaven. Snow everywhere, amazing food, incredibly nice people and that’s not to mention the hotel we stayed in which was unbelievably good.
The skiing itself was fun, falls and all until the injuries. Unfortunately two girls in our year got injured while skiing and that sent us into panic mode for lack of a better term. But in all honesty we were a lot more cautious when skiing for the remainder of the trip. While the skiing part was fun, it was the extra activities we got to do that stole the show. Between ice skating, sledding and going to a water park, I honestly can’t decide which was the most fun. All in all, Santa Caterina is an amazing holiday destination and I’d recommend it to anyone.
