Spider-Man No Way Home - Blog

The trailer for Spiderman no way Home was released and in all honesty it couldn’t have been better. For anyone who was superhero fan growing up, our childhoods are coming back in the form of this movie which is so anticipated that there were tv spots and a teaser for the second trailer alone.

With the return of iconic actors Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn, Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, Jaime Foxx as Electro and not to mention Thomas Hayden Church as Sandman and Rhys Ifans as the Lizard, this movie has already caught our nostalgia, hook line and sinker.

It is also rumoured that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will return to reprise their roles as Peter Parker/Spiderman to fight alongside Tom Holland’s portrayal of the beloved character. If there was ever a film to bring back the feeling of being a kid in the early 2000’s, this is it. I would be lying if I said I didn’t have my own small worries about the movie. Specifically about how the superhero genre tends to make their better projects when they take one villain at a time and this is part of why ‘Spiderman 3’ and ‘The Amazing Spiderman 2’ didn’t perform well in comparison to the rest. Both of those films used three villains, therefore the focus on character arcs and development were paced in different and slightly disappointing ways for the majority of the villains utilised in both movies. Yet at the same time, while this was a factor in the flaws of both films, it was not down to the actor’s performances and I have to commend the writers of the new film for taking on five villains which are so iconic to the fans as it in no way shape or form sounds like it was an easy task but they did it and while worried, I’m confident that this will be the definitive Spiderman movie. I’m sure many others feel this way and just cannot wait to see it. Luckily for us on the East side of the Atlantic, the movie will be released on the 15th of December as opposed to it’s original worldwide release date of the 17th which is still the same in most other countries. So if you’re looking for a couple of hours to become embroiled in nostalgia and excitement, you know what to on December 15th.
